Day 2 in Dubai :)

This morning we continued on our tour.

First up...Jumeirah Beach Park. This is a private beach with picnic areas and a couple of canteens. It’s fenced off and you pay the equivalent of $2 to get in. It is a beautiful beach. The water was very warm, almost like a bath.

It was so hot!! The air-conditioned bus stop is amazing!! We didn’t stay at the beach long because our tour ticket would run out at midday so we had to keep going.

Next...Souk Madeinat Jameirah and Al Qasr (they are right next to each other). Souk Madinat Jameirah is a replica of a Souk with lots of shops in it. It is really nice, there are so many cool things in the shops. Al Qasr is a replica of a palace...behind me in the photo with Burj Al Arab behind that. Burj Al Arab is the only 7 star hotel in the world. It is super expensive and to get in you have to book, even to have a coffee.

Then...The Palm and Atlantis. The Palm is the man made island in the shape of a palm. It’s pretty cool. The buildings are all interesting. Lots of apartments along the main road which is the trunk then actual houses on each frond of the palm. The building at the top of the palm is the Atlantis. I like the shape of it. It is right in front of the beach, would be a pretty sweet view to live in one of those.

Then... Mall of the Emirates. This is another big mall. Inside this one is the man made skiing slope. So awesome!! We decided not to go skiing, we were still a bit tired and preferred to just look around. I met up with Kat and Yana here. They are good and having a great time. They are going to go skiing at the man made slope on Friday as it will be quieter because that is 'prayer day' (It's like our Sunday so Thursday and Friday is the weekend).

Then we went home and chilled for an hour before going back to the Dubai Mall to check out the night life.
I also forgot to mention there is an ice skating rink in full view @ the Dubai Mall. That place is just incredible. I can’t believe how big it is, and flash.

We went up the Burj Khalifa tonight. That is the tallest building in the world!! It is like 200 stories high but the visitor deck is only on level 124. The elevator going up is so smooth you don't even know you're moving apart from having your ears pop. It goes 60km/hr.

We also watched the fountain show they had going. It is really cool. They have music playing and the water moves with it. Spectacular!! The water gets so so high. We had the priviledge of watching it from up the Burj Khalifa as well...very cool!! All up we saw the water show 4 times. Each time from a different angle.

So another big day in Dubai!! We go to Riyadh tomorrow afternoon. We might go to the beach and have a swim tomorrow morning seen as we didn't get to swim today.

Bye!!
